The Bee Movie Literacy Project
This blog is set up to engage students in exploring all about bees! Students need to access the S:/The Bee Movie and view the All About Bees file. Students then need to answer the questions on this blog. Remember to add your first name, last initial, and classroom teacher's name to each response. Bee combs are usually found hanging from a tree or inside a hallow tree, cliff or cavity, even the wall of your home, because bees can not survive in cool/ and or cold weather. Bees combs can be found everywhere except the polar regions, more exposed bee hives are found in the hotter climates like Africa and Asia.
The “hexagonical” comb is made up of thousands of 6 sided cells, that’s were the worker bee manufactures the bees wax, because of the shape of the hive the cell walls give the wax strength. The Comb is also created by the worker bee…big surprise.
When the comb is found in the walls of your home, the honey comb and bees must immediately get killed, because of the textures and ingredients in the wax it will melt when the warm temperatures come, this will leave you will a sticky mess sweeping out of the cracks in your wall.

The worker bees manufacture all the bees wax to make the honeycomb. They put the wax between walls that are on the bees abs and bring it back to the honeycomb.

The hexagonical comb is made up of multiple 6 sided cells. and the worker be is the one that manufactures the wax. the shape of the cell is strong because of its shape.

All honey bees including the Drune and Queen bees can not survive in the cold winters in their honey combs. So since they can't survive in their honey comb during winter they go in to hollow trees and open cliffs.

Honey bees cannot survive cold or cool winters. Of course due to it being in an unprotected state there was no way it could survive through a New England winter. To protect themselves from the cold wet and windy winter found in most ports of the US.

Honey combs are made up of b ees wax. Bees wax is made from the abdomen of the bee. Cosmetic items also contain bees wax. The hive cannot survive in the cold, that is why they are found in trees, holes, and houses.
