The Bee Movie Literacy Project
This blog is set up to engage students in exploring all about bees! Students need to access the S:/The Bee Movie and view the All About Bees file. Students then need to answer the questions on this blog. Remember to add your first name, last initial, and classroom teacher's name to each response. The information collected will help students complete a narrative, a report, or an argumentative letter. Good luck!

bees swarm if they dont get enough nectar. They do this because They think they need to propogate their kind.

The bees swarm when they are about to move to a new location to start a new hive. When you see the swarm the queen bee is always in the middle and is never left behind.

The bees will swarm if the population gets to big. Or if the if they feel its wright to propagating. Because thats what they think they need to do.

Honey bees come out of the hive in big groups containing a thousand or more. They are like a cloud whirling in the air to a near by branch or bush. Some people say that the sound of the bees is like a train. As the bees are hanging on the branch/ bush bees area coming and going looking for a new location to build a new hive. The bees that work for the queen will never abandon her no matter what could happen. Honey bees usually only leave their hives because they are getting to small for the population of the bees and or there is not enough room to store the nectar. Before they swarm out of the hive they talk about where they are going to go to meet. When they leave their hive they will create a new queen bee that they will leave behind and bring the old bee to the new hive! Before the bees swarm the worker bees gather up as much food as they can, to feed them until their new hive is made. When they are carrying the food and making a new hive they will not sting! “You could stick your head in the middle of the swarm and not get stung.” If you see a swam of bees don’t “panic” they will leave on their own! They could stay overnight but they will leave.

Swarms
Swarms is about honey bees. Scout bees are coming and going reporting on good locations for a new hive. If their hive becomes too small for the population for the honey bees. In both cases they will half to created a new Queen bee to lave behind as the old Queen bee is the one that goes with the new swarm.

Swarms are nothing to be scared of the bees will not sting you. The swarm is only a swarm when they are moving from one hive to find another one. Its kind of like moving, except with bees. The swarm can way up to 26 pounds such as the one in the picture. Swarms are only temporary, they can stay for a couple hours or over night.

Ok, when the honey bees get to much for the hive that their in they move to a new swarm or it's because there run out of room for necter.

When bees swarm there hive it is when if there papulation is to big and they are going to move ton d diffrent location if there is not enough nectar to go in the hive to make honey.
